AFL NewsESSENDON has made its seventh top-up signing with the addition of former Melbourne big man Mark Jamar.

The 32-year-old, who played 155 games in 14 seasons with the Demons, helps fill a significant gap in the Bombers list.

“We obviously needed to add a ready-made ruckman to our list. Mark, as a big-bodied, All Australian ruckman will provide us with a great deal of experience,” Essendon football boss Rob Kerr said of Jamar, who had joined the club as a part-time ruck coach.

“We feel Mark will work well with Matthew Leuenberger and assist with the development of our young players such as Gach Nyuon.”

Jamar joins Ryan Crowley, James Kelly, Jonathan Simpkin, Matt Dea, Mathew Stokes and James Polkinghorne as the replacements signed following the suspension of 12 players by the Court of Arbitration for Sport over the 2012 supplements program.
