Cats to add eight to Hall of Fame

Updated: February 15, 2016

GEELONG will use next week’s season launch to induct eight club greats into its Hall of Fame.

A player automatically qualifies by playing 200 games (including pre-season matches) or by meeting five of 14 different categories, including 10 years as a player or coach, best & fairest, a top-three finish on three occasions, 300 career goals, All-Australian and top-three finish in a Brownlow Medal count.

The 2016 leadership group and the name for the new $90 million stand will also be revealed as part of the function at Crown Palladium in Melbourne on February 23.

The 2015 leadership group contained skipper Joel Selwood, vice-captain Harry Taylor, Corey Enright, Andrew Mackie and Tom Hawkins.
