Colac - Levi Dare

BIG man Levi Dare has become the latest high-profile departure from Colac.

Dare, who was a key component of the Tigers’ maiden GFL flag, has returned to the Hampden league, joining younger brothers Lincoln and Dominic at Cobden.

“I’ve never played with Dom before – he was really keen to get me across to Cobden (even) before Lincoln went there, so I’m really looking forward to playing alongside them,” Dare told the Warrnambool Standard.

He is expected to miss the opening part of the season as he continues his recovery from a knee reconstruction.

Dare’s return to the Hampden league, where he is a two-time Maskell medallist, brings to five the number of premiership players to have left Central Reserve since the end of the season, with James Linton (Ocean Grove), Kaden Newton (Queenscliff), Jake O’Dwyer (South Colac) and James Rowan (Birregurra) also gone.

With fellow premiership heroes Micah Buchanan, Jarryd Garner, Marcus Crook and Alex Adams having previously departed, just 13 of the team that defeated Leopold on that historic September day in 2014 remain.
