OCEAN Grove has landed arguably the most decisive recruiting blow of the BFL off-season after adding GFL star James Linton.

Linton arrives from Colac, where he was a key part in its maiden GFL premiership in 2014, while also spending time with Geelong’s VFL team, playing 11 games in the last two seasons.

“We’re extremely happy,” Grubbers coach Wayne Walsh said of Linton’s signing.

“He’ll really help develop our talented youngsters.”

It’s a boost for Ocean Grove who have confirmed the departure of talented trio Jack Rawlings (Bell Park), Andy Higgins (St Albans) and Daniel Maloney (St Joseph’s) to GFL clubs, while Aaron O’Callaghan has joined Geelong West in the GDFL.

BFL FIXTURED RELEASED

Walsh says they are still looking at adding to the list.

“We’ve got room to move with points and salary cap,” he said.
