GEELONG great Darren Milburn has joined GDFL club Bannockburn as co-coach.

A good friend and teammate at the Cats of already appointed Tigers coach Peter Riccardi, the addition of the 38-year-old continues an impressive off-season of recruiting for this year’s semi-finalists.

Milburn played 292 games for Geelong between 1997-2011, including the 2007 and 2009 premierships, before joining Adelaide as an assistant coach under Brenton Sanderson.

“It’s a massive signing for the club,” Riccardi said.

“His knowledge from his time as an assistant in Adelaide is going to help is immensely, especially down back where we need to improve.”

As well as Milburn, Bannockburn has added Michael Stevenson from Geelong Amateur.

It follows the arrival of star forward Jason Tom from Leopold, quality defender Tom Parsons from Anakie and former North Shore goal-sneak Brent Jacques.
