ST Kilda great and former Richmond coach Danny Frawley will play an active role in the development at Portarlington after being named the BFL club’s Junior No.1 ticket holder.

Frawley, who played 240 games for the Saints, which included All-Australian selection in 1988, and coached the Tigers for five seasons is a regular visitor to Portarlington.

“With an impressive resume in the football industry as an AFL coach, captain, All-Australian and club best and fairest, we could think of no other role model better equipped to support, guide and encourage our local kids in the game they love and, for some, pursuing their AFL dream,” a release from the Demons said.

“Danny’s extensive knowledge and experience will further help Portarlington Football and Netball Club achieve a successful junior development program, which up until now has only been available in the select, larger Geelong clubs.

“Not only is this a great opportunity for our club but for the Bellarine area in general.”

Frawley will make an appearance at the club’s annual ‘Demons Day’ on Sunday February 7, which will be used by Portarlington to get its junior campaign underway.
