TOP 10 national draft prospects Darcy Parish and Rhys Mathieson have claimed another piece of history by becoming the latest Geelong Falcons pair to be named in the TAC Cup Team of the Year in consecutive seasons.

Parish was named on a wing with Mathieson selected on a half-forward flank – also for the second straight season.

In 2014 Parish was named in a back pocket.

The only other Falcon to earn Team of the Year honors in consecutive seasons is Geelong’s triple premiership star Jimmy Bartel back in 2000 and 2001.

The duo were also named All-Australians for the second straight season – a feat that Bartel also accomplished – at this year’s under-18 national championships and both are tipped to be snapped up early in November’s AFL national draft.

Mathieson made 12 appearances and kicked 10 goals for the Falcons this season while an early season injury restricted Parish to just 10 games, he was named in their best seven times.

Parish was the Falcons leading vote-getter with eight in the Morrish Medal that was won by Murray Bushrangers’ Clayton Oliver, from Harrison Kol (seven) and Ben McCarthy (six).

On-baller Jackson Volpato was the Western Jets leading votegetter also with eight.
