MITCH Clark hasn’t taken long to win over his new teammates.

The former Brisbane and Melbourne key forward has impressed since training commenced in mid-November and, despite only resuming last week himself, Mitch Duncan is among those raving about Clark.

“He feels like he belongs here now,” Duncan said.

“He’s training well, his intensity, he’s getting around the boys, he’s showing what he’s capable of.

“And that’s really exciting for me and the side, just knowing that we have another big option up forward, that can pinch-hit in the ruck, and do some special things, as we’ve seen in his past football life.”

Duncan was also full of praise for the work Cam Guthrie has put in on the track so far.

“(He is) running really well,” Duncan said.

“He looks set to have a big year.”

Duncan says the return of club great Matthew Scarlett in a part-time development role has provided another off-season boost.

“There’s probably a few scared boys,” Duncan joked.

“Everyone’s pretty excited. He’s come on part-time but he’s been here nearly everyday, which shows he’s really excited about being back at the footy club and helping the group to achieve some great success.”
