Three Geelong players will be available for selection for this Saturday’s all-important home game against fifth-placed Essendon at GMHBA Stadium.

Cats General Manager of Football Simon Lloyd said Jeremy Cameron, Jake Kolodjashnij and Isaac Smith have all been declared fit to play.

“Jezza’s tracking really well, obviously, as Chris Scott’s mentioned, we’ll be guided by our medical team when he’ll be available, but he’s had a couple of big training sessions now and he’s looking good,” Lloyd said.

“Jake Kolodjashnij came out with an adductor injury, a hip injury, Isaac Smith was managed,” he said.

“So we expect Isaac Smith, Jake Kolodjashnij and Jeremy Cameron, all three, to be available for selection this week against the Bombers, which should be a great game.”

Jed Bews is expected to miss another one or two weeks as he recovers from a knee injury that ruled him out of last Sunday’s match against North Melbourne.

“We’re just really making sure that we get that right, and he’s doing a lot of running at the moment,” Lloyd said.

Jhye Clarke and Cam Guthrie are both progressing well in their return from foot injuries.

“Both are now doing a lot of weight-bearing work and going through their reconditioning program, so they’re tracking really well, which is positive,” Lloyd said.

Midfielder Brandan Parfitt is expected to miss one or two weeks after breaking his hand in the Cats’ VFL match against North Melbourne on Sunday and having surgery on Tuesday.

“He’s fairly positive, and it’s a slight interruption, but hopefully he’ll be back in no time,” Lloyd said.
