GEELONG gun Gryan Miers has been rewarded for a breakout season, signing a three-year contract extension to stay with the Cats until at least the end of 2026.

The re-signing comes off the back of a career-best 32 disposal game in Geelong’s 62-point win over North Melbourne on Sunday, which sees the Cats inside the top eight.

Miers leads the league in goal assists (28) this season, enjoying a move further up the ground after starting his career as a goal-kicking forward pocket.

The local Grovedale product has been posting career-best numbers in 2023, averaging 19.25 disposals and 1.75 goal assists per game.

“Gryan is part of a very exciting, hard-working and talented group of young players coming through our AFL program,” Geelong Cats Head of List Management Andrew Mackie said.

“Gryan has proven to be a very important player in our attacking half of the ground, he is a selfless footballer and a player who creates plenty of scoring opportunities,” he said.

“We are very pleased that he will be with us for at least the next three years.”

The 24-year-old is also set to play game 100 against the Bombers in a crucial match this Saturday night at Kardinia Park.
