AFL-bound midfielder Jhye Clark has comfortably claimed the Geelong Falcons best-and-fairest after a season that has him touted as a top-10 draft pick.

The Queenscliff product, who captained both the Falcons and Vic Country in 2022, polled 151 votes to win the Norris Harding Award by 38 from emerging Torquay talent Paddy Hughes.

Making Clark’s achievement all the more impressive was the fact he missed five games, including two for an early season suspension.

Hughes, who also managed three senior games with the Bellarine league grand finalist, finished runner-up on 113 votes.

The bottom-ager didn’t debut until Round 3 but didn’t miss a game from that point.

Newtown & Chilwell defender Oscar Murdoch finished third on 102 votes.

St Joseph’s duo Oli Northam (96 votes) and Ted Clohesy (87) rounded out the top five.

Clohesy, who is also a chance to find an AFL home in November, didn’t go home empty-handed, claiming both the Players and Coaches awards.

Under the Falcons voting system each member of the club’s coaching staff (five) is given a vote card and allocates 5,4,3,2,1 for a maximum of 25 per game.
