Ceglar back in action

JONATHON Ceglar will make his first appearance in a Geelong jumper in more than three months when he lines up in Friday night’s VFL clash with the Casey Demons.

The former Hawthorn big man has been limited to a pair of state league appearances in 2022 after suffering a broken foot against Collingwood on April 2.

Ceglar also had an interrupted pre-season following minor knee surgery in late January.

The 31-year-old is among six AFL-listed inclusions for the crucial clash with the unbeaten Demons.

Fellow ruck Toby Conway (leg), midfielders Cooper Stephens (ankle) and Quinton Narkle (AFL) and veteran Luke Dahlhaus (managed) all come into the team.

Mid-season draftee Zane Williams has also been included after being among several players held over for last week’s AFL win over North Melbourne.

Tom Feely (concussion) is the only confirmed out, with fellow VFL-listed players Ben Worme, Tom Panuccio, Jake Pitt, Jack Leonard, and Scott Carlin omitted.

Worme, Panuccio, Leonard and Carlin are among the emergencies, along with the uncapped Tanner Lovell (Portland/Geelong West) and Lachie Bond.

Geelong, which sits a game outside the top five with six rounds remaining, is looking to avoid a fifth consecutive loss in the same season for the first time since 2017.
