VFL Cats in rare curtain-raiser
- Updated: July 6, 2022
GEELONG’S VFL team will play just its second curtain-raiser of the season when it hosts Sandringham ahead of the AFL clash between the Cats and St Kilda at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday, August 6.
The Cats’ only other curtain-raiser came earlier in the year when it hosted the Brisbane Lions.
The VFL fixture for rounds 19-21 has been revealed, with a home game against Coburg on Sunday, July 31 and a trip to Box Hill on Saturday, August 13, bookending the latest release.
Geelong faces Port Melbourne at GMHBA Stadium in the final round. The day and time for that match will be confirmed once the AFL finalises its Round 23 fixture.
The Cats, who have fallen to 13th on the ladder after four consecutive losses, face the unbeaten Casey Demons at GMHBA Stadium on Friday night.
